I recently got a beagle from the Humane Society. She’s wonderfully loving, but she has behavior issues, like chewing on things that aren’t hers and going to the bathroom inside. I’ve never owned a dog before, and I just don’t know how to teach her what I want her to do. To make matters worse, she’s already four years old, so the bad habits she learned at her old home are pretty strong. HELP! If anyone has experience training older dogs, I really need some advice.

Cooking is one of my greatest hobbies, which is pretty convenient, considering I would have to do it even if I didn’t like it. But it seems that I can’t find the time to make the wonderful, though labor-intensive, foods I would like to. I think cooking for my family is the best way I can show them that I care, so I really feel like I should make each meal special. I guess what I really need is more planning and organization on my part, which are too very weak points for me.
It seems to me that one of the most valuable aspects of this site is the opportunity to explore the meaning of our goals and to clarify them for ourselves. That’s why I want to write the entries. Maybe I can discover something through writing that I didn’t know about myself!
