Attend a Swing Exchange out of state
Camp Jitterbug

I haven’t been on the site in a while apparently and just realized that I did complete this goal a few months ago. While living in Portland, I attended Camp Jitterbug in Seattle, WA over memorial day weekend.

It was amazing! I am planning on making a point to for sure attend it again this year. I personally love dancing with dancers from other places, and when you attend dance events everyone is so much more friendly and the chemistry of everything and how it works together is so full of energy, excitement, learning, and of course more dancing than you can get anywhere else.

One of my favorite things is that the learning curve is incredibly steep! You can actually start from not knowing a thing about the particular dance to being able to show up many of your friends at home who have been dancing for months.

I have also attended a Blues Recess Event, which happened to be my first time in the Blues world and have many more plans to attend events this year!

Many of the friends I made, I am so grateful for and I must admit that dancers overall are the most amazing people! :D

visit all 50 states before i am 30 (read all 4 entries…)
Washington

Ok, so this entry is a little late :). My mom and I drove up to Oregon to visit my brothers in early March and we decided to keep going up to Washington, specifically to Seattle because none of us had been there. Lucky for us the weather was sunny and beautiful (just a bit cold) and I was so very impressed with Seattle! We were only there for one night, but I surely want to go back sometime. I love the fountain near the Space Needle, we got in and played like all the little kids and had a blast taking pics :D

Visiting Pikes Place was one of the highlights too! I wish that I could live somewhere where there is so much color, flowers, smells, and interesting things to look at that people make! Ahh :D

Oh and as a side note there was this really cool museum that I so want to check out next time I am up there too. The Science Fiction Museum. My family really wanted to check it out and I was not interested. The price tag for the tickets were a bit out of our budget on that trip so we headed into the gift shop just to get a feel. After going in there I wanted to check out the whole place :D. Haha! Funny how things can change your mind.

Next place I am going should be Idaho… But who knows :)

Now am at 20/50. I better get cracking only 5 years left to get 30 states in :D

volunteer with Habitat for Humanity
Feeling good and dusty!

Today, I finally got around to the goal of volunteering for Habitat For Humanity :D. My boyfriend and I signed up super fast because of the Disney Give a Day Get a Day. Haha, sad that it took that to finally get me down there.

When we showed up at the house site, we were all told that we wouldn’t actually be working there and they didn’t have enough time to change it though the Disney program yet. So we were given some maps and were told to head on down the their new ReStore.

They recently purchased a new building here in Las Vegas for the second ReStore and are pouring all the work into it to get it completed as fast as possible to help fund continuing projects.

We were there all day. Doing what? Demolition and clean up. OH I had a fabulous time busting down walls and hitting metal studs with hammers to take them down once they had been striped!

What a day :D. I would certainly volunteer my time again, hopefully soon!
