My mother said I’d “fuck up and pass” the PTCB. I proved her right. Right now I only use it occasionally, as I’m still working for peanuts as a cashier in an independent pharmacy. I get bennies there like being able to bring my daughter to work, so I don’t mind. I’m covering more in the pharmacy lately, so “movin’ on up” may be in my forseeable future, plus the bennies. Schweet.
If you’re scared to take the PTCB and are rationalizing that it’s too much math, too much to learn, too far to drive, too…, then you just need to quit clucking like a chicken and get off your ass and do it! The test isn’t that hard, especially if you have prior tech experience. You can study and will have to study, but why not? It’s the best $120.00 I’ve ever spent, and even though I’m not using it, it’s something I will maintain by doing the required CEs and can be proud of for the rest of my life.
Do it!
