I started raising goats about 2 1/2 years ago. They are much smarter and have more personality than you’d think and having them around has become one of my greatest joys. Just be warned – they are a lot of work… theres’ always work to do on the barn, fences, cleaning the barn, stacking hay, medical care (most vets don’t know how to treat goats) etc etc.

Turning off my alarm clock in my sleep and/or hitting the snooze button a million times is a major problem for me! Its even worse during the winter, when it doesn’t get light outside until later in the morning (I absolutely can’t get up in the dark!)
I’ve tried buying the “extra loud” alarm clocks… they work for little while, but eventually I get used to them. Several months ago I bought a Timex “Nature Sounds” alarm clock. The great thing about this clock is that it has 3 different alarm sounds to wake to (chimes, cathedral bells, and your typical alarm sound). Every few days or so, I’ll chose a different alarm sound and this has helped, since I apparently get immune to an alarm after a while.
We got our first TiVo about 6 months ago. It really is fantastic! Never have to watch commercials, always have something on that I like to watch, never miss a show or movie that I want to see… Problem is, we only have TiVo in one room of our house, so nobody wants to watch TV in the other rooms. It spoils you, and makes watching TV the old way impossible
