ok, I’ve experimented with this one, and I have determined that if I stop watching tv altogether, I will go completely squirrelly. What I can do without, however, is ‘junk tv’ and all the negative news reports. I love Animal Planet and The Discovery Channel too much to give those up, so I’ll stick with those for the most part. And I’m still going to watch church on Sunday’s.

I stopped adding salt to my food about 7 years ago when I found out that my Grandfather passed away when I was a child due to a heart attack likely caused by high blood pressure, that my Father has high blood pressure, and that high blood pressure can often be hereditary. Surprisingly, is really wasn’t all that hard to do. I started substituting garlic powder and other spices in place of salt, and it was great. It didn’t take long before I didn’t miss the salt at all. I do very occasionally use a salt substitute, but very rarely anymore. I’ve gotten so used to spices other than salt that if I add any salt, or even very much salt substitute, it tastes way too salty. It has been a change well worth the effort. I do admit, however, that I still have strong cravings for salty potato chips a little more often than I should. Gotta’ work on that one.
