How I did it: I took a gap year after high school to do volunteer work abroad, and I also ended up doing a stint as an au pair girl. This year has gotten me out to Honduras, Guatemala, Kenya, France, and a bit of Germany. I've still got much, much more to see, but I've satisfied my thirst for the next couple of years. My next big travel plan is to take a semester abroad when I'm in college. Read how I did it…

Get my ears double pierced
Took em out 5 months ago

I got double (and later triple) pierced in a flurry of excitement as a teen. I enjoyed them for a while simply because piercing tends to get addictive. It’s just so much fun adding little accessories to yourself!

ut after taking a moment recently to consider whether or not I honestly like the look of them….I decided to take them out and just leave in the one. It’s just so much cuter that way. More girly, more classy, more natural.

Anyway, go ahead and get them done if you want, though. That’s the great thing about piercings—you can always change your mind.

I don't have to 5 months ago

resign to the “fact” that I’m just an unhealthy person. I can get off my ass and start doing things in the best interest of my body. If I treat it right it will treat me back, eventually. Let’s see what I can do.

Gotta be perfect :) 23 months ago

I’ve had a drizzle with a smooch, but I want the perfect one. I get QUITE enough rain here in Seattle, and a fair amount of kisses to boot :) but I need that full-on passionate kiss, and in a flipping monsoon. “The Notebook,” anyone?
