We bought the first house that we looked at on our second foray into house-hunting (the third house we’ve ever looked at overall). As soon as we saw it, we agreed we wanted it. I could see ourselves in it right away.
The home-buying process can be incredibly stressful, but I still feel that it’s been worth it. I’m 15 minutes from work in morning traffic and nearly everything else I need to get to on a regular basis is close, too. The satisfaction of knowing that this is ours just might be the best part.

We just bought the house last month (our first time!) and we have it about half-painted on the inside. Our bedroom is a gorgeous, deep blue-violet. The master bedroom is a sort of green between lime and sea. The living room is cobalt blue and the attached living room and stairwell, positioned at opposite ends of the huge room, will be mandarin orange. My computer room/studio will be a medium purple. My husband’s computer room is going to be decorated like the inside of a battleship – we agreed we could each do up our room as we want. I’m not sure what the kitchen will be, but I’m thinking of something inspired by reggae and Jamaica.
