Between work and there being no snow, pretty much all of my Christmas spirit is gone. And I usually have a ton :-(

How I did it: After I graduated grad school I moved back home into my parents' home until I started my full time job and had a steady stream on income coming in the door. Now I love my parents and am fortunate enough to have a great relationship with them, but after being away at school for five years I was ready to be back on my own again. I was planning on looking at apartments for the earliest September, but more realistically October.&n… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Sacrificed my life.In short that's how I got through this thing. I was crazy and decided to take the entire thing in six months, meaning two section each testing window. And all that on top of intense graduate school work. There were definitely times when I questioned what I was doing (all those late weekend nights, and hours spent at my kitchen table in my apartment). But in the end the sacrifices were worth it.I … Read how I did it…
How I did it: Lots and lots of hard work! In NYS, there is a new education requirement to become a licensed CPA which essentially requires one year of graduate school. I decided this was the career path I wanted to start on, so I found a one year master's program and enrolled straight out of undergraduate. It was definitely good to get my master's degree done right away instead of waiting or doing it part-time. It's … Read how I did it…

Wedding planning has been a little bit insane recently, especially because my work has been taking over much more of my life than originally anticipated. However, I have the best Maid of Honor and my mom has been an incredible help in the planning process. We set a date and a reception site, so the biggies are all taken care of! We’re getting married on 9/1/2012, the Saturday of this coming Labor Day weekend! The reception is going to be at this amazing old hotel in the city that’s being completely restored. It’s a little frightening booking a construction site, but I love the thought of the place and I’m excited to see the progress on the building! There are four different banquet rooms in the hotel, two of which are run by an awesome local restaurant/brewery who will be doing all the food and drinks for our wedding. Fiance and I love the history of the building and are really excited to be able to have our reception there!
So my bf and I have been together for well over five years and we’re both at that stage in life where we knew marriage was the next step. We’ve (vaguely) talked about a marriage timeline and I had a feeling he would pop the question by the end of the year.
Other than that I had zero idea that he was going to propose last night!!!!! I still don’t know if it’s entirely hit me that this is real and I really need to start planning a wedding now. This past year has brought and is still bringing so many huge changes to my life that I’m still working on trying to digest all of them!
