How I did it: I used the Phillips (now considered "old") translation for the New Testament (none written for the Old Testament, I don't believe), and The Living Bible for the Old Testament. This was... "years" ago! Just a month or so ago decided to do this again (read through the Bible completely), and selected The Message (MSG) translated by Eugene Peterson. How I did it: Made a short list (say, 3-5 names for starters) of friends to whom I wanted to write letters (note: not e-mails, but "real" letters, handwritten, for that "personal touch"). Decided to keep the list short (too long, and I might never get started). Gave myself a deadline date (by midnight of the 7th day), scheduled a time into my calendar when I would sit down and write the letters, then did it! GREAT feeling! … Read how I did it…
