I just realised I did this ages ago. Some friends got me some shelves for Christmas, and another set for my birthday, so my porch is now organised – one side has shoes and things, the other side wine, beer and cans of stuff.
Having discussed it with a hi-fi guru in Inverness I went for an alternative solution:

We just signed up to TextDrive’s VCII investment programme. $399 for a lifetime’s subscription. We only get 1GB of space, but there’s so much flexibility and control that we can do pretty much what we like. This is a nice step towards doing it all ourselves.
