Literally just finished the 8th book of 2007.
Rant by Chuck Palahniuk.
Really really good. The beginning is sort of typical Palahniuk with the graphic imagery and the whole “underground/alternative” culture but as it gets to the end….it’s REALLY good.
Formatted in an oral biography, it tells the story of Rant Casey, who started a rabies epidemic. There’s a part in the end that sort of gets dumped on you without real warning and is a bit convoluted but once you wrap your head around it, the convoluted plot sort of starts to get to you.
I can’t say what the ending is. But I’m sure this is one of those books where if you like it, you REALLY like it. But if not you absolutely hate it.
Just finished another book:
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close – Jonathan Safran Foer
So sweet, very sad and yet hopeful at the same time. I don’t know I just really liked it and I loved how I didn’t even realise how far into it I got. Extremely engaging.
Now on to book 8
