My husband just left on his 3rd Iraqi deployment on Dec 15th. He went through the first one before we met, and the second one the first year we were married. This time, we have a newborn baby. The only thing I care about is that he is safe.

How I did it: I saw this really beat up looking bookshelf at Goodwill, but I knew with a little sanding and some paint it would look really great. I bought it, and then it sat on my deck for a few months. We moved, and I got pregnant...life got in the way. It continued to sit on the deck. Finally, while I was getting the baby's room ready, I realized I needed more storage. I figured it was time to finally paint the bookshe… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I printed my text and some clipart off of the computer, then I cut it out and stuck it to a 4x6 card. It took me a few days to get it all put together, but it finally got mailed! Read how I did it…
How I did it: It took us almost a month to do it since I set the goal, but we finally did! He was leaving for a 1 month long training deployment, so we went out and had a nice dinner the night before he left. We got to just sit and talk with no distractions, which is my favorite thing to do with my husband. It reminded me of all the reasons why I fell in love with him in the first place. We had so much fun! I'm glad we went. Read how I did it…

Well, my baby’s due date is in 4 hours. However, she is still hanging out, enjoying herself. I am so ready for her to just get here, it’s not even funny! I had an appointment on thursday with my midwife, and she said I am 4 cm dilated and 100% effaced. She said that she thought we’d have a baby by the weekend. Well, it looks like that just isn’t the case. I haven’t even really had any contractions, well not any painful ones anyways. UGH! Can’t she just want to be born already?! I can’t wait to meet her.
Well, I have been making changes here and there. Sometimes I forget, but I’m learning and trying to make it a habit!
One thing I have always been is a crafter. I love to make things with my hands. Even better than that, I love making this out of something that has no purpose anymore, things people just throw away.
Which leads me to this awesome website that I stumbled across last night and just had to share!
http://www.myrecycledbags.com/This website is going to be the thing that finally nudges me into learning how to crochet!
I absolutely LOVE the idea of using those plastic grocery bags for something instead of just throwing them away. I know you can recycle them at the store now, which is great, but if you are like me you probably forget to take them.
There is a pattern on this site to make a reusable grocery bag out of all those ugly flimsy ones, and this one looks really sturdy!
