It’s work, but it’s so worthwhile when you cross that finish line.

How I did it: Well I've done it 4 times now. 1995 (95 miles first day), 2006 (110 miles first day), 2007 (150 miles first day), 2008 (100 miles with a 9 year old on a tandem). This year will be my 5th and my first 1 day experience. Read how I did it…
Inside: 2.8 mi, outside 3.2 miles. I’ve even done them during the same running session (i.e. 6 mi total). It’s a good run, but can get boring if you do it every week like I do…
I had built up a disaster kit, kept it in a locked bin in our back yard, away from the house. A year or two later we opened it back up and found such a foul stench. The water that we had stored in the bottom that were in plastic containers – well the containers broke down, everything was soaked, covered in mold. I suddenly knew what the Katrina victims must have felt like returning to their homes. So instead we just shelled out the money for the Red Cross kits and packs of water, now stored in a section of our garage away from the house.
