I lived in Friesland and spoke dutch fluently, but since I moved back to the states it has been hard to find people to practice with. I still write letters and talk on the phone to my friends in Holland, but it’s been four years and I’m definitely not close to level I was at before. It’s not a skill I want to lose though! This summer I’m going to try to get some books in dutch, and make an effort to write to friends more.
I’m getting there, Only 20, and I’ve visited three (North and South American, and Europe), by the end of the year I will be up to 4 (Asia), and by next summer hopefully 5 (Africa)!
