Need some inspiration. Told myself the way to do this would be to get to as many gigs as possible. Well I’ve bought my ticket to see Rocco De Luca & The Burden and I know it’s going to be absolutely awesome! I saw them not that long ago at my favourite venue, King Tuts. They blew me away. One of the best gigs I’ve been to and trust me, I’ve seen some pretty awesome bands. The drumming is simple enough – I normally play along on the Yamaha DTX through my ipod. However, the percussion dude adds a whole new element to the ryhthm of the band. Awesome! Can’t wait!

Yesterday I took Indie to dog training classes. I would love to rehome another Dog once Indie becomes more obediant. However, I don’t know how she would react to sharing ‘her’ home with another Dog.

I regularly check out the Scottish SPCA web site (http://www.scottishspca.org) and have checked out the events which the public can get involved with to raise money for the SSPCA. By the way, just incase you’re wondering, SSPCA stands for Scottish Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals. Many people think the RSPCA operate in Scotland. They don’t. Only England and Wales.

Anyhoo, back on topic. There was a marathon that took place recently in Inverness. I would love to get involved with something like this. Not only is it for a great cause but it would also encourage me to keep fit (I am pretty lazy!). My boyfriend does a lot of running. I took it up just before Emma Pops died and have been out with Indie a few times jogging through the woods.

I’ll speak to my boyfriend about this as I would like to do it with some moral support :D

Oh, one more thing. Yesterday, at Indie’s dog training class, there were two Akita pups. Apparantly the owner is an Akita breeder. Personally, I’m not into the whole breeding thing as there’s enough homeless animals as it is. It did make me think about Youshi though (who has still not been rehomed). I told the woman who runs the class about Youshi and asked if she could perhaps ask the Akita breeder if she’s interested in rehoming her. Fingers crossed.

I’m a member of a pretty active community over at X360. I know a lot of the guys there are really into DJing so I got some good starting up advice. Also, my boyfriend chatted to a couple of lecturers at the college and they suggested some decks that will only set me back a couple of hundred quid.

They’re pretty basic and are just to get me started, see if it’s something I would actually want to take more seriously. I’ll start saving up after Christmas as right now all my money is going towards presents and my new house I will be moving into. I really wish money grew on trees. Now there’s a nice thought.

Also, I’ve given some thought as to what genre of music I would be into mixing. I thought it would be pretty cool to do some funk and disco stuff. More underground than mainstream. I’ve been getting into it for drumming and absolutely love the grooves. Some people have said: “DJ hardcore music, there’s no leading hardcore female DJ’s!” But to be honest, being a ‘leading’ DJ isn’t my intention. This is just some bedroom fun. Not to mention the fact I hate hardcore music…
