...since I usually play by myself, but I am at a point where I need to end this goal and set a new one. I threw one over par yesterday and two over today. I actually was an amazing three under going into hole 15, but the wheels fell off and I picked up four strokes on the last four holes. Today’s round was four bogies and two birdies.

I set up a countdown to June 17 on my cell phone—I am 213 days, 5 hours, and 43 minutes away. I don’t really feel anxious about retiring or wish that the time between now and then would hurry up because I am enjoying my last of 34 years of teaching.

I haven’t played for a couple of weeks, but I went out on a foggy and cold morning yesterday and threw my best round ever. I bogeyed holes two and five and birdied six and seven and held par through twelve. I then got a rare bogey on thirteen, but managed to par the rest of the way. I had the whole course to myself, so since there were no witnesses, I am going to keep this goal until I can throw my age while playing with someone.
