I’ve started the NaNoWriMo challenge as a sort of test of whether I can do this writing thing or not. http://www.nanowrimo.org/ It’s just a muck around, but it’s something.
I’ve also applied for two different uni courses (both BAs) and one of them is angled towards writing. I need to submit a folio in the next week so I’ll see whether what I can dredge up is good enough.

I took and passed my hazard perception test (which is a video simulated driving thing involving pedestrians walking off the curb, trams stopping, bikes zooming out from behind trucks and lots of not overtaking). It was a bit dodgy and the video quality was poor, but it’s done and dusted.
The car is registered again now but I didn’t feel able to hassle any of my friends to take me driving so I booked actual paid lessons. They’re not going so well. Mostly I feel really stressed and my instructor is a bit of a douche who wants me to do things completely differently to what anyone else has previously said and is annoyed that I don’t pick it up immediately. Also, he just won’t shut up. So it’s not the fun.
I’ve had 3 lessons in the last 3 weeks with 5 more to go and then the test. I fully expect to fail the test because things are going rather disastrously with this instructor and I’m just a stressball anyway. I guess we’ll see but at least I can get a new instructor after I fail.

I’ve done some pencil sketches in colour, so I think this is making progress. When I do a good enough sketch I may be inspired to paint it or to plan a painting around it.
