How I did it: Kept in touch over the years in small ways. Never spoke bad about him to people we have in common. Kept hope and most importantly, learned how to forgive. My brother initiated contact due to his upcoming wedding. I decided to use that as my platform and give it a shot. I took the initiative and arranged a dinner with him and his wife. In this economy, I have not received ONE SINGLE MENIAL PHONE CALL to ANY of the jobs I have applied to… so maybe I need to be more patient until things turn around.
I have been going through a bit lately, a bit lonely and sick of being single – a bit sad and disinterested with my job – a bit frustrated with the economy and the sad state of my finances…and whatever else. When I feel I need comfort or to get it out of my system, I have been picking up my journal. It also helps me to remember why my life is happening the way it is, and where I’ve been. This is really evident when I go back and reread my entries. It’s really helpful, actually!
