be more confident in my atheism
Untitled

I’ve got a few things that can be really helpful. I never really knew where i stood and wondered if i could reject the idea of a personal god without closing my mind for anything supernatural. I found this guy Richard Dawkins who makes some VERY sound arguments about atheism and gives some very good suggestions on how to integrate it in your life and style.

If this is on your list of things you want to do, there’s no better way to spend 20 minutes than to watch his talk on TED.com:

I can really recommend his book “The God Delusion” too. But you’ll know wether you want to read it after you’ve seen his talk on TED.com.

As for the 99.9% remark made by Tyzanol: You’re pessimistic. Atheism is MUCH wider than you think. I don’t know the exact numbers, but i think it’s somewhere around 30%, and that’s not including the people who aren’t really open about it. For example, do you really think Bush could say out loud he’s an atheist? Do you really think he believes in god? I for one doubt it…

Now go watch Dawkins! (-:

have more weblog traffic
Ways To Get More Traffic

I really wish i had 100+ readers on my weblog. There’s a few things i do that i “feel” should be good to increase traffic, but i need wayyyy more ideas, so if someone has suggestions: i’d love to hear about it.

First of all, i write in English instead of dutch. That should keep it universal.
I have this lay-out with a picture in the top left of every entry (usually something related that looks psychedellic (-: ), and the first paragraph is always bold, which makes it easier for people to start reading and see if they like the entry.
I try to write about different things and i try to make idiotic points and put them in an amusing way. If an enry is about something you’re not interested in, you still might like the entry or the conclusion i’m working towards.
I try not to write about stuff that interests only the people that know me directly, and if i do i try to think of ways to make it interesting anyway (which i often fail at, by the way).
And finally, i try to link to it whenever i see an opportunity!! (-:

I for one LOVE my weblog. If i read back a week, month or year, i’m really having a good time. I just wished more people would read it and comment on it, and i wish i knew how to accomplish that.

take singing lessons
Untitled

I think my “thing” should have included becoming a better singer too. I found a teacher, and it’s a lot of fun and i think it’s good for my singing, but i’m still a beginner, and the biggest thing it’s brought me so far is stone-cold confrontation with my terrible voice. I am improving slowly but i didn’t know i sucked so badly! (-:
