be more creative
I need more personal creative experiences 3 months ago

I work as an art director at an ad agency. Sounds like I get plenty of opportunities to be creative, but I don’t exercise my creative skills much outside of work anymore.

When I was in school I was constantly working on some painting or a photography project. After I found a job, I kinda slowed down from burnout. But now I find that I’m losing my ability to express myself creatively, and it’s effecting my performance at work.

I’ve always loved photography – so I think that may be a good place to start.

move to LA
Need a change in scenery 3 months ago

I just got back from a trip out west – the time I spent in LA was the highlight of my trip.

I’ve been feeling for some time that I need to make some changes in my life. I’m content and I have a lot going for me, but I don’t feel like I’m living up to my potential. I remember what it was like in school – having the opportunity of a new life on the horizon. It seemed to provide me with a lot of motivation to work harder and do better. I need that again.

The challenge is going to be finding a decent job. I have a career and don’t want to give that up. Although finding something temporary like waiting tables would be an option, I’m getting a little too old for that life again.

My other challenge is doing it in a manner that my boyfriend can be happy with too. We haven’t had a serious talk about this yet, but I know he’s open to moving out west as well.

Quit Smoking
Tried it again and again 3 months ago

I’ve managed to quit successfully a few times, but always go back to it when I hit a rut in personal life or when I’m under a lot of stress.

The last time I quit I was successful with the use of Chantix. Stayed smoke free for about a year. I would try it again, but I don’t know if I can put up with the side effects again, and I’ve also heard about people having health problems if they take it for prolonged periods.

I just got back from vacation – always a reminder of what an inconvenience smoking can be. I didn’t like always having to drag my boyfriend through all the misery of taking smoke breaks before gettting on the plane, etc.
