What is there to say about this. My wife, Betsie has been SO understanding about my squalor problem. I used to think it was just a packrat problem but there are neat and tidy pack rats… i am attempting to become one of them. It took a trip to http://www.squalorsurvivors.com/ several months ago by Betsie to open my mind on this. I am not a worse case scenario and i do periodically fight it back. I learned this about dishes and laundry somehow but now need to apply the same techniques of right here right now no waiting to the rest of my bad squalor creating habits. I know it would be easier to throw stuff away … and i suspect i will still do quite a bit of that. Digging out of the hole is not the hard part, i’ve done that before, most squalors have. It’s preventing the hole from filling in with squalor that is the key to being squalor free. Parting with things, not necessarily throwing them away, is not yet part of my nature, i am still working on it.

I’ve had some great ideas for books and some starts on a few stories but so far i seem to lack the discipline. One thing especially is i need to remember my notepad to keep track of ideas. Just the other day i had a great idea for a short story while i was at the library and couldn’t remember even the idea by the time i got home. On the ones i have remembered i seem to peter out after a hundred or two lines.
I have a good start on an apocalypse story that changes points of view and characters on its journey. I’ve toyed with working in some metaphysical ideas into it. I think i will revisit the story as it gels more in my mind.
My tomato king dreams did not work out … Then there was the “fruit fly” harvest errr the seed harvest and my dropping of a stack of paper plates clean seeds resulting in an impossible to seperate mix. Too many tomatoes to actually process. This spring i am keeping it simple and planting lots of flowers with one small/medium plot reserved for the veggies i will actually eat.
