Berlin is amazing!
I just wish I had a few more days there because there’s really a lot to do and see.
I will definitely return.
And it only took like 2 or 3 weeks. Can’t complain about that.
Well, that was easy, and boring!
At least in the end I got 115 points out of 120, so that more or less made up for the stress and time wasted in this little adventure.
Well, this took me a lot longer that I thought!
At least now it’s over, and now I have a rought list of things I want to accomplish until the end of 2008.
Actually, looking at the list, there are some things that I’m almost sure will not make it for this year, because the chance is either gone, or I’ve decided otherwise.
Anyway, hopefully I will get at least some 80% of the list completed before 2009.
So I figured out what was holding me back: the coconut cream.
I tried it with coconut milk, but it sucked. Then I tried some dried coconut cream, but the taste wasn’t there, and there were all of these coconut flakes that just wouldn’t dissolve.
Finally, my GF found me canned coconut cream which I thought would result in the one true piƱa colada.
The coconut flavour was right, though a little bit too sweet. Uunfortunatelly, the cream was developing a thick layer of fat on top. I tried dissolving it with heat and it worked, but the I put some ice cubes on it, and it reformed.
So, now I’m still looking for the perfect coconut cream. I guess it’s time to scour every asian shop in Frankfurt.
This was time consuming, tiring and expensive, but in the end, I’m happy with the result.
There are still some loose ends to fix, but my appartment is essencially a home now.
I’ve been hearing horror stories of people waiting 2 to 4 months for the technician to come.
The guys from the provider said it would take me 2 to 3 weeks. I’m crossing my fingers.
It’s good exercise and fun, and I will certainly try it again.
There’s also a puzzle component to the exercise that requires one to solve which pegs to use in order to reach the top, though I’ve found out that sometimes when you’re stuck, you can just trade brute force for finesse and try to advance that way.
In the end, my arms were completly dead from too much brute forcing, so next time I will try to do it the more cerebral way :-)
After spending half the day on my ass, I finally got the basics right, and from there it got incredibly fun!
Now, after an almost-broken finger and a sore ass, I’m really looking forward to next time, hopefully before this winter is gone!
The exception will be when it will really be impossible to go the 3 times, i.e., trips, sickness, etc.
Depending on the time I lose with the above I may decide to compensate with some extra weeks at the end of the 3 months.
If it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing!
I now have 4 new pairs of pants, which should hold me over at least until the next year.
And when I do, I will buy 4 or 5 pairs at once so I won’t have to do it again for a few years
