Just got my first tat today, a bass clef (it’s a musical notation symbol) on my left wrist. And I’m happy with it! (:
Some points for those of you wanting to get your first tat:
- Didn’t hurt all that much (well it doesn’t on the wrist, dont know about elsewhere). I anticipated worse pain, which made me kinda scared right before getting inked, but it turned out it’s not that bad. So don’t worry.
- Don’t rush it, take your time. Ponder over the design, size, place etc. Make sure you wouldn’t regret it when it’s done.
- Pretty obvious but yeah- go to a good tattoo parlour. Choose good hygiene & good result over a bit of price difference.

One, it’s not that hard really; and two, it does feel good to have achieved an objective, trivial as it might seem..

I’m a terribly shy bastard, to the point of panicking when having to talk to people I don’t know (it’s talking that somehow makes me freak out). I have often literally run away and/or hide so as not to talk to people; when it’s not possible I just look down or look away (I’m all right with friends/people I know, it’s just new people that I’m scared of). I know that’s not good, but I haven’t been able to bring myself to do otherwise. Well, so now I’m trying to stop being such a huge coward and we’ll see…
