I was always afraid that I had complete forgotten my Spanish and would never be able to relearn it. Well I am happy to say I was wrong. At my current job, I work with children with autism. This past week I worked with a boy, who’s name only speaks Spanish. The first day my Spanish was quite terrible. But by the end of the week the nanny stated that my Spanish had greatly improved! I was also complemented on my Spanish by another person! I don’t remember the last time someone complemented by Spanish! I was so excited. If only one week of practice did that, there is still hope for me!

How I did it: I saved for about a year and sold my car. My friend and I did a lot of planning. We had all our hostals reserved before we went. I budgeted my money and made a plan as to how much I would spend every day. Read how I did it…
How I did it: My first car was a stick-shift that I got when I was 17. There was no one to teach me so I has to learn on my own. It was just trial-and-error. There is no secret. It's just about knowing your car. Read how I did it…
While on vacation with a friend I had dinner all by myself. My friend wanted to take a nap and I wanted dinner. At first I was going to just order room service. But I decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. I was really uncomfortable at first but by the end of the meal I was feeling better and started talking to another guest. I just had to remind myself that I shouldn’t care what these people thought about me.
I was REALLY hoping to move out of the US after I finished school in 2010. I was thinking somewhere in South America. However, my mother recently lost her job and I have to put this dream aside. No way could I make enough money to support myself and help my mom out in a different country. I’m not giving up on this dream. Who knows, maybe some miracle will happen and she will get a job within the year.
