I was given a tenor sax three months before I had to have four crowns fitted to my front top teeth. As a result I did not want to do anything with these teeth for at least six months, let alone put them on a saxophone mouthpiece. They are ok now, but I don’t even know where to start with the sax.

I like listening to tango and Gotan Project, and I liked being in southern Spain. I would have liked it more if I could have had conversations there with local people. For the future, if I want to go to large parts of the world, like South America for example, Spanish is going to be a useful language to learn. But only if it’s the right kindd of Spanish. I remember one PC insisting that Mexican was “Spanish.” It was – Microsoft’s version.
