As of 8/8/2005, I have read
- Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner (AWESOME – a must read, for laughs and tears and perspective on marriage, friendship, and having a baby)
- Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli (simple, wonderful, good for adults even if it’s technically from the “young adult” genre)
- Occasions by Kate Spade (shouldn’t really count as it’s not in-depth reading, but hey, it’s something)
and I am STILL trying to get through Harry Potter #5 (second half) before starting 6. I just want to remember all the little details so I don’t constantly have to wonder or lug out #5 for reference. The memory, it’s already going at the ripe age of 25.
At the same time, I am reading Tamarind Woman for Book Club next week. It’s great so far—intriguing.
Well on my way!

As of 7/25/2005, I have read:
- The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver (fantastic!)
- The Devil Wears Prada (a little fluffy and shallow, but funny and worth reading just for the character laughs)
and
- I am starting on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (6) just as soon as I finish re-reading the last half of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (5).
I also have a ton of books checked out from the library and a new one has just arrived for me after being on hold. AND I am starting a new one for my book club, Tamarind Woman by Anita Rau Badami.
2 down, tons more to go.

is an old favorite – simple, timeless, classic. I’ve sat down and played it at least 5 days out of the past 7, and found the calm that settles over me is amazing! Very therapeutic.
I also find that my memorization and playing skills are growing if I make the time to play each day! Nothing too surprising there…it just means I need to make the effort for this activity I truly love.
