  1. Being such a big girl at Chuck E. Cheese’s… showing me around (she goes there with G’s parents all the time), not needing to sit on my lap for games she was too small for the last time I took her there, not asking to be carried everywhere, going to the potty halfway through, etc. A bittersweet one, for sure.
  2. Saying the following, all in a tone which very clearly emulated my tone when I’m not-so-happy with her and want to talk to her about it: “Mommy! Mommmmy. Mommy. Come over here. We need to talk. I want to talk to you about something. Just for a minute. Sit down. I want to talk to you about… about… yes, let’s talk, just talk. Let’s have a little conversation about… about… CAKE.”
  3. Whispering secrets in my ear during cuddle time before bed. My favourites… a tie between “You are my sweet Mommy and I love you,” and “blahlahlahmahgrahlalalah.”

  1. A successful outing to Chuck E Cheese’s with both kids. M had no issues with H being there, taking up lap/arm space, just had fun playing.
  2. G home for dinner.
  3. Happening in upon The Children’s Place Monster Sale on its last day – 50% off all already-reduced items. Awesome! Sunglasses for $1.50, boys’ onesies for $3, etc. I stocked up, didn’t pay more than $5 for anything.
  4. My MIL finally said H’s name. Okay, so it didn’t make me happy, but she said it, perhaps for the first time, so I considered it a success.
  5. My mobywrap, couldn’t live without it.
  6. H sleeping away from me for 10 freakin’ minutes, long enough for me to type this and a few other things. But now he’s waking up. :)

Agh! How in the world I catch up on 3 months of ‘3 things’ is beyond me. Well, here are a few various happy things that have happened since I was last here…

  1. A baby! Not so little anymore, though… I now have a 14-pound giant.
  2. My little girl (“No, I’m a BIG girl, Mommy!”) and how well she’s dealt with the invasion of a little creature who is pretty much permanently attached to me day and night.
  3. Occasionally being smart enough to go to sleep when the baby sleeps and take advantage of the occasional 4-hour stretch of sleep.
  4. Spring.
  5. Friends like Amy, WNymph and Emelle visiting me on vox, despite my being the total traitor to 43t that I am.
