The small Texas town I grew up in, is home to the aluminum plant which provides the powdered aluminum used in the shuttle booster solid fuel slurry.. my father helped build and later operate the facility. In the last year of his life, I took him on one last road trip to the Cape to witness a shuttle launch .. hope to be able to return there one day to celebrate continued interest and dedication to the outward expansion of man. Also, one of my school chums became an astronaut! and has been cheered publicly when appearing in the IMAX movie about the ISS.
