My name is Robert, and I stopped playing the cello when I finished high school. Went off to college and got my degree in science, but what was really nagging at me was my cello, patiently waiting for me in the corner of my room.
So after I graduated with my B.S. in C.M.B., I dusted off the old “kiste” and started playing, and it was simply the most wonderful feeling to be playing again! I haven’t looked back ever since, and I am so glad that my cello had such a strong voice within me.

My name is Robert, and I am a professional cellist of sorts, having played in orchestras, chamber groups, as a soloist, and now with my ensemble, fuegokoori.
If you are really interested in learning how to play the cello, it will take time and effort, much more than playing the piano or even guitar. And it will take cutting or filing your nails until they are practically no longer visible. A quick guide for nail length: if you can drum your curled fingers on a table and there is no clicking sound, they are probably ok for cello playing.
Having short nails saves loads of time for technique, and will give your teacher less headaches! :)
Ask me for more tips, I’m happy to help!
