It was built in 1915 and the more work we do, the more things we find that need to be fixed. Its a two story 3 bed, 1 1/12 bath with a nice attic and basement. Finally a place to store our stuff. It also has a big backyard so I can see a new gardening goal coming onto my list. It’s a wonderful feeling being a homeowner and a first step to getting out of debt and being financially secure.

How I did it: one step at a time - lots of readjusting - some making do, but overall worth itIt took us a long time to hang the drywall on an angle. Very, very heavy. We learned to mud as we went. My husband figured it out before I did. Scraping it clean every time and smoothing the wall did get easier. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Had to get carpet glue up before sanding. Had to let the sealant cure. The first time we had to rush it and move in. The second, we let it cure and bought a tinted poly the 2nd time and it worked better. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Planning and more planning! I started more than a year before and then went down to try everything out about 6 months before. Then I had to roll with the punches a little but it all worked out well! I took 10 students in my class. We studied for 3 weeks beforehand and then spent 10 days there. Read how I did it…
