So it’s day 16 of 108 days (http://tinyurl.com/108days) and I’ve managed to meditate every day thus far. Some days are “easier” than others… I’m able to rest and my mind is quiet. Some days my mind shoots off in a certain direction and I can’t reel it in… It flops around like a fish on a line and I find that I’m not a good fisherman… But all in all, daily meditation is happening for me despite my judgements on the quality (or lack thereof). I don’t worry about quality over quantity. I think meditation is one of those things where quantity over quality is the more appropriate metric.

How I did it: 1. I started using a financial management software package. I entered every single expense I had from the most significant (rent) to the most mundane (a pack of gum).2. I saw the big picture. Having everything in one place with colorful charts and graphs and bright red ink showing me just how in the red I was really motivated me. I could see how far I had to go, but I could also see my progress as I made progress. One by one, I watched … Read how I did it…
I’ve been away from my yoga practice for quite some time. At one point I was doing one of Baron Baptiste’s power vinyasa programs 3-4 times a week. It has been well over a year since I’ve consitently done any yoga practice at all.
I woke up this morning at 5:00 and went for my AM yoga dvd… the one with Rodney Yee. It is gentle and good to do before meditation.
Sometimes just a little stretch can make a big difference.
I’m hoping to sustain this until it becomes a habit. I tend to wake up late often and rush around the house like a mad woman to start my day. It is nice to start the day from a paced and contemplative place.
