The Mayo Clinic Book 3 years ago

Well I’ve been reading “The Mayo Clinic Plan” and it has really helpful advice. I also got my recipe books in the mail. I’ll use a few of them but I’ll have to wait to use the rest when I have the time and money. So, I’m using the information provided to come up with a healhty, affordable meal plan for now. I’ve been eating more legumes since I bought the book. Mainly using them in place of meat. I bought all kinds: red beans, cranberry beans, northern beans, lentils, etc.

They’re pretty good. Since my last entry I really didn’t do much to improve on my health. In fact, I did the total opposite…I ordered chinese food every other day for one week, I ate pizza, lots of ice cream and a lot of unhealthy stuff that I shouldn’t have eaten. I found that I had gained 25 lbs since the last time I had weighed myself…in an extremely short period of time. It was depressing and made me realize that I really needed to make some changes. So for the past week or so I’ve been improving my eating habits. The drastic change in weight made me realize that I really needed to make some changes.

I ordered two books from the Mayo Clinic from Amazon.com and one from the American Heart Association. One book is a health plan and the other two are healthy recipe books. I also ordered two new taebo videos. I’m just waiting for them to arrive.

stop being a people pleaser
do you approve? (lol!) 3 years ago

I lot of times I find myself doing things just because they make other people happy, even if it makes me miserable. I found myself in a constant need to perform a certain way in order to please those who are close to me. I would find myself allowing other peoples opinions to control my life. So, I’ve decided not to allow others to have such control over my life. When I decided to change my major to sociology and economics, I had a lot of criticism (mainly about sociology). People would tell me “you can’t do anything with a sociology degree”. So then I decided, okay fine I’ll do accounting (someone had suggested that to me). But I have since changed my major to sociology and economics. I’m going to follow my heart and not other people’s voices.
