...being better at crocheting (and knitting—that’s my other goal) means knowing something besides the basic stitches. Once I start doing well with the other stitches in my book, I’ll cross this off. Same goes for my knitting.

I just finished my first scarf with lots of ribbing a few hours ago, so I’m checking this goal off as “done.” My next goal: learn to knit BETTER. :D
Because of school, I wasn’t able to work on my scarf as much as I would have liked, but when I do work on it, I can knock out a lot pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I messed up somewhere-I think I dropped a stitch or something-and when I went to fix it, I just kept screwing up. This is because I never practiced fixing mistakes. D’oh! Needless to say, I had to frog a bunch of it. :( By the time I finish this thing, winter’s gonna be over, heh.
Advice to anyone starting out: before working on your first project, make practice swatches where you purposely screw something up, so you can practice fixing mistakes. Don’t be like me, i.e. “Oh, I’ll just be really careful!” Haha.
