It’s 6pm on Day 1 of the rest of my life… So far so good. I feel pretty determined and I’m knocking back pints of water. But my will hasn’t really been tested yet – I’m not tired and gagging for a caffeine/sweetness hit today – so the battle is far from over

How I did it: The first thing I did was contact a load of my friends. I told them I was going to quit smoking and that they are to kick me in the face if they ever see me with a cigarette again. They were amazingly supportive; some even offered to give up a bad habit of their own i.e. chocolate out of solidarity.I went cold turkey as of midnight Wednesday 12th November 2008. I kept really busy, drank a load of water, had a couple of hissy fits, but did… Read how I did it…
I eat the same foods all the time. I literally have the exact same breakfast and lunch 5 days a week, with only minor variations on dinner. Need to mix it up a little!
I think I eat relatively well but there are some things I’d like to change:
1. Switch to low fat dairy
2. Make sure to get my 5 a day fruit and veg every single day
3. Never eat white bread
4. Eat less processed food
5. Try new foods (I’m going to make that a separate goal for that one)
6. Cut down on treats
7. Get more protein
