Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Holiday gratitudes

Gratitude is present for all these things from the past 5 days
1. A safe flight down to visit The Bee Man and his Queen.
2. A wonderful journey through the Hunter Valley foodie heaven with my foodie Bee Man. Smelly cheese, chocolate, artisan olives and flavoured balsamic vinegars :-)
3. A fantastic day in Sydney with a visit to the Sky Tower. We had the most awesome weather and the views were fantastic. We could see all the way out to the Blue Mountains.
4. The little Thai place The Bee Man took me to which has the most amazing Thai desserts. Yum!
5. Meeting the Yoda puppy in person. He’s a boof head :-)
6. A day spent in the garden painting the fence and helping The Bee Man and his Queen.
7. Dinner at a beautiful little French restaurant. The food was just superb.
8. An interesting insight into The Bee Man’s life with his Queen.
9. Just making the flight home, although my luggage didn’t. I got to ride out to the plane on a golf buggy! Yes, it was me who was named on the final boarding call LOL :-)
10. A safe flight home.
11. The joy of coming home and being back in your own surroundings. I love my little unit and the life I have here. Going away, even for a few days, has made me appreciate how good my life is. Thank you thank you for all that fills my life with safety, peace and joy.

Friday gratitudes:

Today I am grateful for:
1. A day for Intentional Time Out (ITO) which is the new buzzword for relaxing and doing what you want LOL.
2. The new coaching triads being organised. I am now in a new triad group which is all male and very gung ho! They are talking about getting all 36 hours done in 6 weeks doing 2×3 hour sessions a week instead of taking 12 weeks. A bit full on, but if we can pull it off it will accelerate my qualification.
3. My ‘Prevention’ magazine arriving in the mail.
4. The most amazing lamb shanks in red wine. OMG! Thank you Mum for teaching me to cook.
5. My new sleeping mask that seems to be helping with cutting out the light from the apartment block across the street. I have had trouble sleeping ever since the complex was completed as the light from their car park filters into my bedroom through the blinds. I wake up 3-4 times a night, wide awake, thinking it’s time to get up. Then I realised that every time I wake like that I am facing the window where the light is filtering in. I can’t afford block out curtains, so I bought a sleep mask and last night I had a wonderful night’s sleep. It may be coincidence, but I think I might have solved the problem.
