Although there’s no question it’s doing its job, I’ve already had enough of the wrap. I’ve been wrapping my right arm (for compression) for a week and a half now, and it interferes with writing, typing, eating, and everything else. Also people are constantly bugging me about what I did to it. I’ve begun to make up stories about mountain lions. The better I wrap and the more the swelling goes down, the sooner I’ll be into sleeves instead of wraps. I can’t wait!

How I did it: I found a pattern online at Sew Simple and printed it off at the right size for what I wanted to do. Picked out a piece of cute floral and a coordinating solid to make the owl applique out of. Sewing the rectangular pillow is simple, just a few seams on the machine. Then the inside was made of just some muslin and batting. I used iron-on sticky interfacing to stiffen the owl pieces and then stuck them on and zigzag… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My mother finally, FINALLY agreed to call a company to help us trap the squirrels. They came out; I showed them the places that needed to be shored up and they set a couple of traps. We caught two squirrels, and when it had been a week since I'd heard noises inside the eaves and the walls, they nailed up the entry points. All in all, it was $325, and it was well worth it. Well Worth It! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used a needlepoint kit that I ordered from a stiching supply store online. The background blue and the stripes on the flip flops are regular needlepoint stitch. The lighter blue dots are upright cross stitch. The green straps are satin stitch; the black and white are French knots. Finally, the pink pom poms are tacked loops. They're meant to be cut, but I think they look cuter left looped. Read how I did it…
