Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

share my faith with others

It is a difficult thing to do, to share. I know that there’s a 50% probability that I might be rebuffed. But the Lord will equip me to do His good works…

keep in touch with old friends

It is difficult to sync sched with my pals especially lately. It’s really different now that we are working and most of us have our own families… I really miss them though…

be more confident

this is one of those days when i don’t feel i measure up to anything or anybody. I know it’s all just me. Have to kick this bad habit… after all, I am lovingly created by God. And to think otherwise is an insult to Him..

start a small group

yesterday, I met with this girl who was assigned to me by my small group leader to disciple. I hope this is the start of having my own small group… It’ll be great to pass on everything I’ve learned from the Word and from my mentors…

re-learn french (read all 2 entries…)

Last night I watched on TV these people who are learning new languages just to have an extra edge when applying for call center jobs. It’s really is different when you’re so into learning a certain language because it comes so easily.

I really have to find those old college french grammar books of mine…

re-learn french (read all 2 entries…)

I hope to brush up on my French. I really love that language and I can’t even remember why I stopped practicing it…

be more organized

I hope to learn how to put everything in a list and follow that list. I will also try not to multi-task too much as it distracts me and I end up not accomplishing anything at all.

Tonight’s exercise will be: to focus on organizing the social bookmarkings of my blog.

follow through
grant me the patience and diligence to follow through!

I procrastinate. But when I do take action I have the tendency to multi-task a lot. This is where the problem comes in, I usually get too impatient such that I want to finish everything at the same time only to end up with nothing finished at all!

This is the second Waterloo in my character and I hope that I’ll be able to follow through this time by learning the urgency of following through everything I start.

stop procrastinating
starting to start

One of my biggest character flaw is the tendency to procrastinate. I really really want to get rid of this habit. I know that when I do overcome this, greater opportunities will be opened up to me. And at the same time, many ares of my life will get better. I’ll be more efficient and get more things done. I’m a dreamer, I can say I have great ideas but I lack the proper character to put all of my dreams and goals into motion. So hopefully by putting out there this conviction to stop procrastinating, I’ll be able to become a better person.

be more grateful
in everything give thanks

A friend reminded me today to always give thanks, especially to God despite of the situations I am in whether it be good or bad. I hope to make this more than a habit, but a way of life…

pray more
conversing with God

If the Bible is His words and His way of speaking to me, so it’s through prayer that I will be able to talk to Him in return. Nothing I find more effective in finding peace in the face of everyday problems than reading His word and praying.

I hope to improve my prayer life by doing it much more than I usually do in a day.

read my Bible regularly
reading feeds

I set this as my number one goal because I believe that if I am ever going to be victorious in this life I have to put God first. Certainly, faith is a major point and trust precedes it. How can I trust God more if I don’t know Him very much? It’s pretty much like getting to know a person and from there trust develops. So it’s not a religion anymore, it’s a relationship.

start a new blog
which niche?

I hope to start a new blog soon but I am currently working on my list of niches I want to tackle. Don’t want to rush into anything and not be able to sustain it.

lose 25 pounds
How to start...

I was speaking to my friend earlier on in YM. She’s going to guide me through this. Jan is an expert in keeping healthy and she has passed on some practical yet surprising tips on losing weight. I hope it works for me as it does for her.
