get rid of my back pain
PIlates 4 months ago

I got a Pilates personal trainer and am trying acupuncture.
I’m not sure how much the acupuncture is helping but the pilates personal trainer has done wonders. She’s helped to improve my posture and has really focused on increasing my lower abdominal strength which helps ease the lower back pain. She has done more than any physical therapist or chiropractor. If traditional methods aren’t working for you I would definitely recommend trying this as an option.

Ok, I don’t actually want to do this one, but I think it might be good for me.

get a personal trainer
You can really see the results! 5 months ago

I lucked out and found someone who was training to be a pilates instructor. She needed to complete 150 hours of personal training to complete her program, so I got a ton of free sessions!

I never would have paid a personal trainer but now I am hooked! Having someone to correct your every move is incredibly helpful. I’v always gone to the gym, but now my gym trips seem to actually show some real results!

She’s also helped to reduce my back and neck pain, by showing me what I’m doing wrong and constantly correcting my posture and working my abs.

We just went a few weeks ago. It was fabulous. It was such a nice change of pace from NYC.

Mixed results 5 months ago

I tried Physical therapy with mixed results. It helped my back pain a little – but created neck pain! So now I have both! I was better off before I went!

try accupuncture
Tried it 5 months ago

I just started acupuncture a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any improvement yet, but at least there are no side effects! I’ve heard such amazing stories about people getting relief from acupuncture, I really want to be one of those people!

Pay to have access to one of the bars or restaurants in the area – that way you don’t have to wait outside in the cold for 8 hours without access to a bathroom! It makes the whole thing much more enjoyable!

We bought a place about 9 months ago and we are still working on getting it setup. I never realized how much time it would take!

We’ve got one cat but I feel so bad that we leave him home alone all day while we’re at work. Later this summer we’re going to get a buddy for him to play with.

Hire an intern

The extra help is great… but if you’re not used to having employees (I’m a single member LLC) it takes some getting used to. It’s actually a lot of work to distribute work to other people and check everything before it goes out.

When I go to the gym I usually do 300 situps. I want to see if I can get to 1000.

buy an apartment in nyc
Oi! The headaches this will cause! 2 years ago

Oi! The headaches this will cause!

Ok, I said it’s worth it but that’s still to be determined.
I’m really hoping it’s going to be an awesome investment because getting through the buying process has been a true nightmare!

If you’re financially struggling (even just a little bit) to buy a place then I suggest you wait. No realtor in NYC wants to take on a client with a low budget. You’ll also end up moving into a co-op since those are considerably more affordable. If you buy a co-op be prepared for rules! I was quite surprised to be told that I couldn’t move into my own place on an evening or weekend… that I couldn’t renovate my own place without getting permission… and that I had to get permission for long terms guests.(the list goes on…)

If you buy a place anywhere – but particularly here – do your research! Everyone is looking out for their own best interest. Ask lots of questions and take detailed notes – it is so so so easy to get screwed!

Also try to get more space than you need right now (something I wish we had done). By the end of the process you’ll never want to move again!

For anyone who has this on your list – I wish you luck!

win an oscar (or an Emmy etc)
Emmy Nomination! 2 years ago

Well I didn’t win – but I got nominated for an Emmy! That’s more than I could have ever dreamed of! It was great to just be among so many accomplished people at the award ceremony. To even be categorized with so many big names was a great honor – and it was an evening I will never forget!

I wouldn’t have survived the NYC real estate market without one. The whole process is so complicated here!

Have my work published in a Stash DVD
Untitled 2 years ago

I played a small role in putting together this animation – but its still very cool to see my work in a “best of” animation collecton. I’m hoping as time goes by and I become a more experienced animator I’ll see my work in later issues of this DVD magazine – and next time I’ll have a larger role in the featured project.
