I learned to play the recorder in elementary school. I still have my recorder from back then! I can’t say I really remember how to play anymore, but if I manage to get a quick overview of the notes again I’m sure I’d be able to pick it up quickly. The recorder is something that’s definitely… interesting to do. I’m not sure if you want to proudly say that you know how to play the recorder when someone asks if you play an instrument… It’s just something fun to do when you’re little or want a simple instrument that you can learn when you don’t want to spend too much on lessons for the more “sophisticated” instruments.

How I did it: Practice! Practice! Practice! I tend to simply play a piece once and then move onto the next one until I finish all the pieces I wanted to play that day. Either that or simply give up on the piece completely. That is NOT the way to do it. After gaining more patience, I started out playing the piece slow. I couldn't get a feel for the melody yet but after a while, I started to get the hang of it.&n… Read how I did it…
I was basically “forced” to learn how to play the piano when I was five. It was fun at first but then when I got to the age of eleven or so, I began to dislike the piano with a passion. As a result, I stopped taking lessons. My mom still forces me to play the piano for 30 minutes every Saturday and Sunday but I’m not improving at all since I’m just playing piano pieces that she wants to hear and I really don’t like. So I’ve decided that I will work on playing more piano pieces that I enjoy no matter how hard or easy they are… eventually I’ll improve in playing the piano when I get to enjoying it once more. :D [[ Or at least, that’s the way I feel. ]]
I’ve always wanted to play the violin ever since I’ve seen this one character from an anime series playing it. (I’m lame, I know! I think it was Sailor Moon. XD Now that was a LONG time ago.) I’m getting tired of playing the piano so learning how to play the violin would be a refreshing change. (:
