For the past few days I’ve been focussing on resisting unnecessary spending temptations. I have managed to avoid purchasing clothes and home items I do not need.

How I did it: Went in for a free consultation. They give you an eye exam and map your corneas. I was told I couldn't have LASIK because of the shape of my corneas, so they offered me LASEK instead. A very similar procedure, but it's a surface treatment, and there was quite a bit of discomfort in the days after the surgery, which you don't get with LASIK. I went and got glasses, because you can’t wear contacts 1 week before the procedure. I also narrowed down to 2 places for the surgery. My next step is to schedule a consultation. I guess I should do for both places and then see which one I like the best.
I haven’t been as much of an obsessive-compulsive budgeter as I was. And I’ve been okay, because I make a comfortable living now. However, some recent big expenses have me a bit nervous. I want to make sure I am living within my means. I think it is time I took an in-depth view of my spending and revise my budget to be more realistic of my current circumstances. I also need to make sure my budgeting is in line with my saving/loan payoff goals.
