I wouldn’t say I’m a scrooge in this respect really, I’ve given away about 5-10% of my monthly income most of my life to charity, but we’re I feel I’ve really lacked is giving charity my time. I think it’s a bit too easy to give up money to charity when all it takes is a click of the mouse (certainly this christmas I’ve done my best to give some chartiable gifts too- thank you WWF for having some great gifts!), but what I’d really like to give is some time to some real people who need my time. I’m pretty sure most of my time is currently wasted, so if someone else can use it…!
I think the biggest problem I have with achieving this is being not much of a outgoing kinda person I’m really struggling to find local charities who I can help out with. Anyone got any good ideas on how to find a charitable job that doesn’t require me being scared to death with meeting new people?!

I’ve started, at least, with this goal. I’ve always aimed to lead a minimialist live style, so as to minimise my indecivisiveness and be happier, so I’ve been really good this christmas and I’ve gotten rid of lots of things that I no longer need or that overly complicate my life. I can’t deny I need some rather obscure creature comforts, but I’d really love to lead a simpler life, without the chaos and everything else.
I’m sure this on many peoples’ new year resolution list, but I think this one is particularly important because I’ve never really been fat or considered myself physically unattractive because of my weight (which is soo the wrong reason for trying to exercise more- although I must admit I am too skinny to be a super-butch male model!), but my physical health and particularly my mental health really need the boost a bit of exercise could give me.
I know it’s achievable by only giving up a bit of time and effort, therefore I’m really determined to get through this coming year with a better approach to my personal exercise regime.
