... because I’m trying to read a 900 page book right now and also because I love graphic novels. Between the two, being a teensy bit loose about what a term a book for the purposes of this goal is a good thing.
So, first book this month:
Shonen Jump, vol. 27 (www.shonenjump.com)
Starting right out with a preview of the new manga coming in April, Eyeshield 21. That one is going to be great. I love sports manga and Eyeshield looks particularly good, especially with the HS quarterback that has demonic fangs. Of this month’s installments, Naruto was the best one, especially when Sasuke woke up and went crazy. The way the ninja spell is drawn on him is fantastically beautiful. As usual, Hikaro No Go provided the most interesting subject. I never ceased to be amazed at how interesting a manga about kids playing go can be, but it’s so very exciting. This stuff is hard to pick up in the middle, but if you haven’t read Shonen Jump before, think about getting in now before you miss much more, especially if you love great graphics.
Always hard to find time to draw on a workday. It’s horrible, it’s bad, and worse, it’s an alteration of a picture I did before of Kurama for the wall calendar in my office. Still, she has my hair color and I like her wings. http://homepage.mac.com/cinder1013/
