The Husband (though he was the boyfriend at the time) just got in the truck and started driving. We drove all over East Texas. We would up spending the night in a cheapo hotel.

It was kind of nice to just go and not stress about the planning.

We’ll be doing it again.

Eat out only twice a week (Once at lunch, once at dinner)
Moving helped

We moved to a small town in which there are very few restaurants and we don’t much like the ones we do have. All of a sudden eating at some is a much better option. :-)

Put 1500.00 in an after tax savings account
I've done this a couple times

but I keep spending it. So, now the goal is to have 3000.00 in an after tax savings account and LEAVE IT!

Go whitewater rafting
Went Rafting In New Mexico

We went rafting in New Mexico on the Rio Grande. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right time of the year for it to be truly a white water experience, so I want to go again. We did have a fabulous time!

Take a trip to Big Bend (preferably with the horses)
Done

We went without the horses. Bend Bend National Park is really neat. Amazing scenery. We stayed at the lodge in the park.

But, my favorite part of the trip was the Balmorhea State Park.

Get my child off to college with a scholarship
So far, so good

He graduates in 3 months. We got a 36 thousand dollar college down to 14 thousand with scholarships and financial aid. Not bad.

Planning a Trip to Alaska in 2009

We are moving to Alaska for 3 months in 2009. May, June and July. I know it is pushing it, but I am hoping to get there in time to see the lights!

Get rid of all the ugly wallpaper in my house (read all 2 entries…)
I gave up and moved!

Instead of worrying about the wallpaper, the taxes, the yard that needed a sprinkler systems and all the other stuff that needed fixed – we moved.

become a better networker
Well, I've done it - at least sometimes

Back in September, I made myself go to a business dinner with a vendor from Atlanta. I talked during the roundtable. I talked with other users of this particular product. It wasn’t fabulous, but I made it through.

Apparently, I made an impact on someone. Because the Marketing VP asked me to lead a roundtable at their user conference in Atlanta in October. I agreed.

I lived through that too!

:-D

I’ve been somewhat effective.

I am crying UNCLE

I read about 37 books this year. I think that’s pretty dang good. I am not going to feel bad about not reading 52…

29 Eragon

30 Bringing Up Boys – Dr. James Dobson

31 Summer Light

Did this. Friday night we decided to leave that night and go somewhere. We didn’t know where we would end up. We wound up in Marshall, TX and spent the night in a cheap motel. Next morning we drove to Caddo Lake, Uncertain, Jefferson, Lone Star, Daingerfield, Winnsboro etc., etc.

We visited three State Parks: Caddo Lake, Daingerfield and Bob Sandlin.

It was needed and a blast.
