patronize more locally owned restaurants
Untitled 2 years ago

I’m already doing this, and I’m finding that it is so exhilerating and fun, and once the owners get to know you, sometimes they give you free food. It’s great!

The only draw back, sometimes, is that the customer service can be quite spotty. I’ve been to small “mom and pops” where the owners or the employees treat you as if they’re doing you a favor, but that does not happen too often, but when it does occur, I simply peruse their menus for a few minutes and then return them and leave.

learn how to swim
It's Time to Learn How to Swim 2 years ago

I grew up on an island, and I never learned how to swim because my parents were always so fearful of the dangers of the sea. Well, now, I am an adult, and I do not live with my parents any longer, so it’s time for me to dig my heels in and sign-up for swimming lessons.

I work at a local community college, and their next swimming course starts in July, so wish me luck, guys! I’m going to need it.

become a professor
I'm Ready to Go...I think. 2 years ago

I love Victorian- and Edwardian-era, British literature. Also, I enjoy Afro-Caribbean lit, so I plan on pursuing a PhD in English with a concentration in either Victorian literature or Afro-Caribbean literature. I have about five ideas for my dissertation, so I’m really excited. Currently, I’m working on a critical essay surrounding the ideas of “Love and materialism in Victorian Literature”. I hope I’m not getting ahead of myself. Lol

Right now, I’m saving like crazy to gather enough funds for tuition for at least my first two years of my Doctorate program.

Wish me luck, guys!
