I will try to live MORE sustainably, but total sustainability in the family I live in in the world I live in, is just not going to happen.

I breastfed my first for 18 months, he stopped when I was 4 months pg with my second. I breastfed my second till he was 16 months and quit because I wanted to have a third and wanted a little break between breastfeeding and pregnancy. I am now breastfeeding my 3rd, who is 15 months old. I am looking forward to weaning him this summer, before he is two. I am tired of it.
I got my passport in 1998 right after I turned 18. I could have got it when I was 17 and it would have cost less but been good for 5 years. I waited till I was 18 so I could get the adult passport, which cost more but was good for 10 years. I intended to use it a lot. I have one stamp in it.
I am so shy, it’s hard to make friends. I am trying to establish a career as a freelance writer so I need to get over my fear of approaching people and learn how to talk comfortably with people I don’t know well.
I don’t want to hurt him, but it’s come to the point that I’m really not physically attracted to him anymore. I never thought that would happen. He was heavy when we got married almost 7 years ago, but now he has gained even more weight, I think he is getting close to 400 pounds. He is a tall man, but that’s still a lot. He is not interested in changing his habits, but I still want to find a way to motivate him and encourage him once he gets motivated. Part of the problem is that I am very thin, so I CAN’T diet with him or I’d be skin and bones in a week!
This is never going to happen, I give up, I will continue to live my life in a disorganized manner and will be happy about it!
I still dream of writing a few novels one day, but for now I have a paying gig writing monthly articles on various parent-oriented topics for a LOCAL magazine.
I have started planting. I’ve started broccoli, melons, peppers and tomatoes indoors. In the garden I’ve planted potatoes, lettuce, spinach, and a few peas. Still have lots more room. Tomorrow i plan to plant radishes, carrots, maybe more lettuce, spinach, peas and potatoes.
I got a Maya Sling and got used to using it. I also gave up on the whole concept of having a remotely tidy house while I have an infant.
Practice at home until you are comfortable. i used a blanket wiyh my first one for awhile but he was hot and uncomfortable and couldnt see anything. I learned to put his head in front of my breast, then lift my shirt. If someone DOES get a glimpse, who cares? It’s just a breast. Some people are freaked out by it , but they just need more exposure to what is truly normal. You will be empowering other women, not to mention their babies. Now I am breastfeeding my third. I walk around the grocery store with him nursing if he’s hungry. One day the bagger clerk got right in his face when he was nursing and asked me how old he was! I don’t think he even realized!
Can anyone tell me how much daily care is required for this? Or would I be OK to leave them with food and water for a few days and go out of town?
Use a very big pot. Finely chop an onion. Chop a couple of carrots and a medium potato into bite size pieces. Saute this in 3 T olive oil for 5 minutes. Add 1 clove pressed garlic. Add 1 c lentils. Add lots of water (start with 5 cups). Chop up a roma tomato. Put that in. Put in a teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of pepper. Put in a teaspoon of thyme. Heat to boil, then reduce to simmer. Simmer about 45 minutes. keep an eye on it and add more water, a little at a time, as needed. Serve with cornbread and apple cider on an October afternoon.
