Well, instead of buying new ones I have taken to just going to the bookstore and reading them there. Seems I am inventing new ways to keep myself from reading the books I have. But I am reading this fantastic book called A Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible Such a good book; I have been pleasantly surprised.
so the gal i have met a total of two times now (this past sunday and again last night) and i have already just hit it off. we’ve decided to meet once a week (every tuesday) indefinitely.
also, does it count to deepen friendships you already had? i have one friend that i have been friends with for 10 years probably. although i was her maid of honor in her wedding 4 years ago, we have never really gone below the surface. until recently. we have just been really talking about things lately, things that actually matter and make a difference, and it’s been so wonderful. we actually have a standing date every saturday morning to walk for an hour or two, just the two of us, and then we go out to lunch with her husband. it’s one of the things i look forward to every week now. we both risked being vulnerable and have been richly rewarded with love and acceptance from the other. it’s been so fulfilling to have someone like that, you know?
