get a better job
Time to change.

I’m making this a resolution for 2010. I resolve to get a better job, because, frankly, I want one.

It’s not that I dislike my current job – working part-time as a barista for Peet’s Coffee & Tea. In fact, I love coffee and making espresso drinks, but my location is one of the busiest in San Francisco, and is incredibly stressful. More than the $9.95/hour is worth, in my opinion. I’d like something a little more relaxed – like an office job, which I have four years of experience in – for that kind of pay, but ideally I’d like a career job that involves my interests.

Personally, I’d love to make money through my writing, and my girlfriend brought up the idea of trying to make it as a professional blogger or a web editor for some site or online magazine; journalism is a field I wouldn’t mind getting involved in. Of course, to land those kinds of jobs I’d need to start producing more content on my own, but if it means a better job then I’ll go for it.

Here’s hoping I’ll get lucky next year and find something.

complete 5 video games (read all 2 entries…)
New Game+.

One of my 2010 resolutions. I resolve to complete (at least) five video games from my collection this year.

My vast collection isn’t getting any smaller, and as much as I want to reduce the amount of “consumption” resolutions this year I think this is one that I should keep. Especially since I have a ton of RPGs in my backlog, I need the motivation to finish them all.

Like last year, games I’ve already started still count, and I count the games as they’re finished, not necessarily 100% completed (no thank you, FFXII sidequests!).

  • COMPLETED:
    1. Katamari Forever (PS3, 2009)
    2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3, 2009)
    3. Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One (PSN, 2008)
    4. Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two (PSN, 2008)
    5. BioShock 2 (PS3, 2010)
    6. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (PSP, 2007)
    7. Goof Troop (SNES, 1993)
    8. Star Ocean: First Departure (PSP, 2008)
    9. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3: FES (PS2, 2008)
    10. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (PC, 2005)
    11. Suikoden IV (PS2, 2005)
    12. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (PSN, 2010)

GOAL COMPLETED ON MAY 3, 2010!
