When I got back from Southeast Asia, I had terrible jet lag. I tried to take advantage of it and be productive. I was only sleeping four hours a day; I was up at 3am. I didn’t feel tired but thought something was wrong. I tried valerian root, coffee, and melatonin in the hopes of getting on a practical schedule. After some intense dreams, drowsy mornings and the shakes (I don’t drink coffee), I’m back at square one.

How I did it: I was going to Thailand to visit a friend and scuba diving has always been one of those things that I've been dying to do, so I combined the trip. My friend and I were meeting up in Phuket. You can't swing a dead cat without seeing a shoppe advertising scuba services. I was able to complete the course in three days: day one, classroom and pool skills; days two and three open water skills. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used to have to sit down every 10-15 minutes. My calves and feet were always sore and tired. I went to a podiatrist, and he determined that I needed custom orthopedic inserts. He took a molding of my feet and sent the cast to a factory. Six weeks later my feet were transformed. The soreness in my calves disappeared in a few weeks. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I flew down to New Orleans on Monday night. I stayed at Hotel LeCirque because it is right on the parade route. Got up bright and early and secured a spot. Since New Orleans is such a liquor liberal town, I got a jumbo daiquiri on the street and enjoyed the show! Read how I did it…

My learning curve has plateaued. I’m forgetting simple words and phrases from level one! I have joined a practice group to get more exposure.
Back in high school a poem of mine was published in the school’s literary magazine. I felt such pride!. I want to feel that again but on a larger scale. I have an idea for a play as well as a novel. I have writer’s block that is motivated by fear. I hope to have a rough draft of my play by the new year.
