Do not accept everything you read as truth.
You are not the only person to feel alienated when reading Ayn Rand. She is unapologetically self-righteous.
Automatically, you will not fit the mold of her characters nor perfectly embody her philosophy of Objectivism.
“Atlas Shrugged” may screw with your head. How can we not want to improve upon ourselves after such a tribute to mankind?
Good story. But! – keep your wits about you. Don’t sacrifice your independent thought to Rand’s objective rants, and this will be an extraordinarily enjoyable read.
To accept her philosophy out-right would only contradict its values anyway. Think for yourself.
