How I did it: This may be a cheat, but I listed a goal I had already done (but I want more fourteeners!). After finishing the draft of my MS these in 1989 I took a 7 week car trip up and down the southwest, and hit the tops of Lassen and Mt Wheeler (Nevada, a shade under 13000) along with visits to Crater Lake, Mt St Helens, and, um.... It worked for running a marathon- commit to a goal you think you cant do, with a specific deadline, and follow through. I signed up in 2009 for NaNoWriMo, and made it to over 50,000 words written in a month.
It sat for a few months, and I managed to do a few sweeps for edits, but at this point, it’s just something done.
